Invitation to the opening of SIGNS. LANGUAGES. URBAN SPACE. Graffiti and Street Art in Neukölln.

Graffiti and street art are more than mere layers of paint on walls – they are expressions of an urban language that conveys political, social, or even personal messages. The new special exhibition explores this visual communication in Neukölln's public space and invites visitors to unravel the diverse forms, codes, and contexts.

Whether tags, styles, or pieces – who is behind these various signs? What do they tell us about the city and its inhabitants? From the well-known Einhorn in North Neukölln to the large-scale works of "Reclaim Your City," this exhibition offers insight into the creative, often anarchic scene that straddles art, activism, and everyday life.

Through interviews that the museum conducted with representatives of seven crews and individual artists, it offers deep insight into the motivations of the individual artists. The exhibition is intended as an invitation to take a closer look and understand.
