Sunday in the Nikolaiviertel
At this free creative event on "Sunday in the Nikolaiviertel," children and adults will create modern versions of historical headgear.
Whenever you left home during the Biedermeier era, you never left home without a shirt or hat. This also applied to the Knoblauch family, who once lived in the Berlin townhouse named after them. Special women's hats like the "Schute" (shoe) or men's collars like the "Paternmorder" (father murderer) were part of the Biedermeier look.
On Sunday in the Nikolaiviertel, everyone is invited to create their own version of the historical hat. Whether with wild patterns, glittery stars, or a ragged look – unique sun hats with a historical connection are created here. Those who wish can take and print a souvenir photo with their own "Schute" (shoe) in front of the historical backdrop.
Meeting point: in front of the museum (children's salon)
