For a pretzel, for a word. Deutschlandfunk Kultur invites you to the live radio show from the Humboldt Forum in Berlin. Be there when we welcome a prominent guest from culture, science, media or politics to the Mechanical Arena. Have an engaging conversation together about the issues of our time. Chat, argue or think out loud together.

Here you can experience radio up close, to watch and also to join in the discussion. An engaging conversation about the issues of the day, broadcast throughout the republic, made in the new old centre of Berlin, in the rebuilt City Palace.

Maren Kroymann

She was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for her ‘vision of bringing politics and civil society together with art and culture’, she has received four Grimme Awards and the Carl Zuckmayer Medal – the list of honours that satirist, actress and passionate audio art maker Maren Kroymann has received to date goes on and on. Kroymann has been writing TV history since the 1980s, from Oh Gott, Herr Pfarrer to appearances in Scheibenwischer and Nachtschwester Kroymann, the first satirical show by a woman on ARD. Together with four brothers, Kroymann grew up in a musical home in Tübingen. Her artistic exploration of the influences of the 1960s is ‘a kind of emotional energy’, she told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Kroymann is a strong advocate of equal rights and shows civil courage.
