"Righteous among the nations" and Holocaust survivors

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, the Claims Conference is publishing a book dedicated to the "Righteous Among the Nations" – those who helped Jews in a variety of ways during World War II.

The album "Stronger Than Fear" includes 36 portraits of women and men from France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, and Ukraine. Together, they saved the lives of more than 220 Jewish people.

The focus of the event will be a conversation with Prof. Dr. Witold Lisowski (*1932), one of the "Righteous Among the Nations," and Eyal Tanar, the grandson of Holocaust survivor Dudek Inwentarz.

  • Lecture: Dr. Karoline Georg
  • Book presentation: Malgorzata Quinkenstein and Benyamin Reich
  • Moderation: Ruth Kinet
  • Conversation: Prof. Dr. Witold Lisowski and Eyal Tanar, moderated by Dr. Małgorzata Stolarska-Fronia

Co-organized by the German Resistance Memorial Foundation, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe Foundation, and the Claims Conference

The event will be held in German with simultaneous Polish interpretation.
