Stella is not happy. Consumed by lovesickness, she hopes for Fernando's return. Cecilia, who asks Stella for a job for her daughter, was also once left behind. In their shared pain over the lost object, neither of them realizes that they are mourning the same person.
The premiere in 1776 caused a theater scandal, because at the end the three lovers enter into a love triangle: "One apartment, one bed, and one grave." Is Goethe's play a plea for queer relationships?
For the second production created for WORX, Lucia Wunsch places "Stella" in a sea of flowers in which (love) dreams and reality lucidly blur together.
What injuries do people inflict on each other in love? Is it possible to see a loved one as they really are?
"Am I awake or am I dreaming?"
