Chamber concert with Christina Fassbender and Gregor Hollmann

Such works still exist: pieces that, although more than two hundred years old, have not been heard since their creation. These are expressive and astonishingly sensuous sonatas for flute and harpsichord, which have been waiting in libraries and archives for their musical (re)discovery.

Driven by creative curiosity and musical openness, the duo Christina Fassbender and Gregor Hollmann have, with their third recording, once again unearthed unknown works. These are compositions from the environment of the Prussian royal court that truly deserve to be heard and performed. Exciting “new” compositions, which the duo impressively characterizes with their distinctive sound, interpretative individuality, and colorful playing style: salonfähig—yesterday and today!

Fittingly, the duo celebrates the premiere of their CD of the same name and their program exclusively in the salon of the Schwartzsche Villa.

Program:
Works by Augustin Reinhard Stricker, Christian Friedrich Schale, Thomas Marc, Michel de la Barre, Georg Zarth (Czarth), Johann Friedrich Wenkel, Antoine Hugot.

  • Christina Fassbender – flute
  • Gregor Hollmann – harpsichord
