with Sigrid Güssefeld and Alexander Klein

‘Salon Dufte’ presents an innovative evening of entertainment in which musical and literary impressions artfully reflect the timeless fascination of the Golden Twenties.

Sigrid Güssefeld and Alexander Klein bring the ambivalent and charming era of the Golden Twenties to life with critical and empathetic texts. Their varied repertoire spans the arc from the intimate moods of the 1920s, through the economic depression and flirtatious provocations, to the psychological challenges of our present. In doing so, unforgettable writers and composers such as Hollaender, Tucholsky, Mehring and Kreisler enrich the programme.

About Sigrid Güssefeld:

Born in Berlin in 1971, Sigrid Güssefeld completed her music studies at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she studied singing with Thomas Gsell. She gained a wealth of stage experience at an early age, including as a ballet dancer at Urania Berlin. In addition to engagements in choirs and musical groups, she wrote and set numerous of her own lyrics to music.
Her novel ‘Der Sankofa-Vogel’ was published by Spirit Rainbow Verlag. As co-founder of the cabaret ensemble Berliner TingelTangel, which she launched together with Viola Kuch, Andreas Kling and Alexander Klein, she discovered her love for the cabaret of the ‘Golden Twenties’.

About Alexander Klein:

Born in 1970, Alexander Klein studied piano at the Berlin University of the Arts. He travelled the world as a soloist and chamber musician, performing in Brazil, among other places. His musical projects are many and varied: in addition to concerts at the Kreisler evening ‘Einladung zum Taubenvergiften’ with Alexander Morandini, his work included co-founding the ensemble Berliner TingelTangel, which presented the programme ‘Revue gefällig’, among other things.
He also gained experience as a dancer with the Delphi Dance Orchestra and as an accompanist for improvisation theatre projects such as ‘Paternosta’ and ‘Impro Berlin’ (in collaboration with Tim Fischer and René Swoboda, for whom he arranged and composed). He also taught at the Schauspielschule Charlottenburg acting school for ten years and was musical director at the Neuköllner Opera House for productions such as ‘Stadt der Hunde’ and ‘Piraten’. Today he works as a répétiteur, freelance composer and pianist.
