The Samurai Museum Berlin is the new anchor point for Sake Week in Berlin and is showcasing sake collaborations with prominent personalities in a small exhibition.
Celebrities around the world, such as the rock bands Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden and Phoenix, celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa, who also runs the Nobu restaurant chain together with Robert de Niro, as well as Cate Blanchett, Brooklyn Beckham, Pharrell Williams and Richie Hawtin, have dedicated themselves to sake.
A selection of exclusive sakes from such collaborations, some of which are no longer available for purchase, will be on display at the Samurai Museum in a small exhibition during the event week.
Internationally, sake is enjoying significantly greater popularity in some cases, while in Germany it is still a niche product, despite increasing acceptance and awareness in top-class gastronomy.
That may change: From 1 to 7 October 2025, various events on the subject of sake will take place in Berlin as part of Sake Week, dedicated to its production and enjoyment.
In addition, sake enthusiasts and professionals can attend numerous events during Sake Week. The kick-off will take place on 1 October, World Sake Day, initially exclusively for trade visitors at the Samurai Museum Berlin.
