Rooted: Pitch & Perform is a week-long festival at the intersection of performance, process, and community. In workshops, performances, pitches, and open discussion formats, artists from Berlin and beyond come together with the aim of making artistic developments visible, creating new networks, and testing alternative production models.
The festival week begins with free webinars on topics such as professional self-marketing and structural sustainability in the cultural sector. The program then moves into the analog space with an opening night at The Wein Salon, performative workshops at LAKE Studios, and daily aperitivo sessions combining performance and exchange.
The focus is on new projects by local artists as well as guest performances by international performers. In an open format, works in early stages of development are given space for resonance and feedback, while finished pieces are shown in curated triple-bill programs in the evenings.
The entire program is available HERE.
Closing night on July 7 at Acker Stadt Palast
Three different artistic positions conclude the festival week with a diverse program:- 8–8:30 p.m. – Jawhar جوهر by ATŌMI & Anthony Nakhlé: an audiovisual performance between ritual, body, and sound
- 8:30–8:45 p.m. – When Kissing a Flower by Venera Kazarova: a performative play with sculpture, movement, and costume
- 9:00–9:30 p.m. – Dance for No Ending by Pamela Pietro & Jesse Zaritt: a choreographic dialogue about dissolution, transformation, and physical memory
The participating artists come from different contexts and disciplines:
Anthony Nakhlé, a performer from Beirut with international stage experience, works at the intersection of movement and identity. ATŌMI, sound artist from Italy, combines ambient techno with installation sound art. Venera Kazarova explores a personal mythology through moving images, fashion, and bodies. Pamela Pietro and Jesse Zaritt present Dance for No Ending, a duo that oscillates between dance intuition and conceptual depth.
Rooted: Pitch & Perform is part of the Rooted series by Apricot Productions – a platform for self-produced formats that strengthens artistic work in the context of migration, local roots, and collective practice. Most events are accessible without prior registration and on a pay-what-you-can basis, with proceeds going directly to the participating artists.
