"The Sugar Horse" is the name of the band project of the well-known puppeteer René Marik. And so, this evening, the mole has to stay at home, because Marik, along with his bandmates Ulrike Arzet (trumpet) and Bodo Goldbeck (double bass), is concentrating entirely on his second great passion – music. The trio is now joined by Stephane Doucerain on drums.

In 90 minutes, the Sugar Horses explore their absolute favorite songs and span a genre-spanning 70 years of music history. From Hank Williams to David Bowie to Billie Eilish, from the Pixies to Christina Aguillera.
The idea isn't to simply recreate the songs, but rather to reveal their essence through reduction. And so, part of the fun of this evening lies in recognizing and rediscovering your own favorite songs, and being touched by them in a whole new way. Because that's what these four achieve: They get right under your skin with their borrowed music.
