Based on a true story: The tenor is out, so the assistant director has to take on the role of "Siegfried" in Richard Wagner's opera at short notice. Torn between political correctness and personal preference, the task seems enormous – and time is short!

At the same time, the young protagonist is being provided with supposedly helpful tips on "modern masculinity" by dating coaches. It's so hard being a man – with all the newfangled role models, no one can see through them anymore. It's good that there are still role models to look up to: "Siegfried" in Richard Wagner's version, for example. Could he perhaps serve as a guide? Strong, courageous, fearless, and blond.
But wait – what actually happens in this opera? And wasn't Wagner an anti-Semite? The rehearsal for the big performance becomes a challenge and a confrontation with Wagner's worldview and the question of why outdated gender stereotypes can persist so stubbornly.
