‘Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Schumann’

How wonderful that Japanese pianist Maiko Mine will once again be performing a classical-romantic piano recital at the Mark Twain Library this year.

The programme includes works by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Ludwig van Beethoven and Robert Schumann.
Among other pieces, the audience will hear Ludwig van Beethoven's famous ‘Eroica Variations,’ which incorporate the well-known final theme of his Third Symphony. Robert Schumann's highly demanding ‘Davidsbündlertänze’ are also on the programme.

Maiko Mine completed her piano studies at the University of the Arts in Tokyo and at the University of Music and Theatre in Rostock. She has repeatedly stood on the winners' podium or reached the semi-finals at various high-profile international piano competitions (Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Prague Spring, Japanese University Competition). She has performed with the Polish Chamber Orchestra and the Vorpommern Philharmonic Orchestra on various guest tours in Germany and abroad.
