The organists of St. Sulpice Church in Paris are automatically among the superstars of their profession. Charles-Marie Widor held this position for 64 years, after which the legendary Marcel Dupré shaped organ music in one of the world's most famous churches for decades.
Since February 2023, Karol Mossakowski has held the prestigious position of titular organist at St. Sulpice. In his debut at the Philharmonie Berlin, he will share the podium with Andreas Wittmann, long-time oboist of the Berlin Philharmonic. Together they will perform a festive program spanning the Baroque to the Romantic period. At the end, Karol Mossakowski pulls out all the stops, demonstrating with a magnificent work by Marcel Dupré that the Philharmonie organ remains one of the finest concert hall organs in Europe, even after 60 years.
