The open study space was developed in autumn 2023 as part of the racism-critical festival "Gefahrenzonen" curated by Mehmet Arbag and Anna Sabel by the association together with the gallery of the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts.
With photographic works by Schohreh Golian, a video installation by Berfîn Karakurt and Hasan Gündogan as well as selected books, archive and research materials, a research and learning space about the criminalisation of places, the racialisation of violence and struggles against racism and other inequalities is being created.
For the study room, the association has put together tables with materials from 1993, 2000 and 2016 - these are nodal points at which the orders of migration society were challenged and racist attacks and articulations intensified.
The research and learning centre enables critical reflection on social power and domination relations. Together with the project "Collecting anti-racist struggles", the open study room refers to the decades-long and many-voiced commitment against racism. The space invites people to connect and remember the struggles against racism, anti-Semitism and other forms of inequality.
