Film&Talk#2030 - Season 16

The film focuses on four television interviews from 1977 between journalist David Frost (Michael Sheen) and former President Richard Nixon (Frank Langella).

When Nixon sat down with Frost to discuss the sordid details that ultimately brought down his presidency, it had already been three years since the former commander-in-chief had been forced out of office.

The Watergate scandal was still on everyone's lips, and Nixon had remained notoriously taciturn until he agreed to sit down with Frost. Nixon was confident that he could hold his own against the up-and-coming British broadcaster, and even Frost's own people were unsure whether their boss was ready for such a high-profile interview. When the interview finally took place and both men dispensed with the usual fuss and instead told the plain truth, fans and critics on both sides were amazed at what they saw.

They welcome author and journalist Korbinian Frenzel and other guests to the discussion.
