The influences on her band's music range from the Arctic Monkeys to Queens of the Stone Age, The Strokes, Motown classics and Bob Dylan. The idea of a gang with a woman in the lead comes from Blondie and the Pretenders, the sonic voodoo from Tom Waits and the poetic and humorous approach to the lyrics from Captain Beefheart and Allen Ginsberg. The music of The Mysterines is nevertheless clear for this extraordinary diversity.

The Mysterines
Their debut album “Reeling”, which was released in 2022, shone with stylistic diversity in all directions of rock, from desert blues to post-grunge, from hypnotic chants to light-hearted pop touches.
Lia Metcalfe grew up listening to music from various genres. When she was just seven years old, she met Nick Cave, who didn't inspire much sympathy in her, but could still serve as a musical role model. She founded her first band at the age of 13.
Now the band from Liverpool has announced their second work “Afraid of Tomorrows” for June and released the first single “Stray” as a precursor.
