Themed tour with musical performance and sound installations by Manuel Pessoa de Lima

The Oranienburg Palace and its collection are characterized by diverse histories - different people and objects from all over the world have left their mark here: An extraordinary ensemble of 17th century ivory furniture opens up a connection to Brazil.

The event begins with a brief introduction to the colonial context and Johann Moritz von Nassau-Siegen, who commissioned the furniture and was a protagonist of Dutch colonial rule in Pernambuco (Dutch Brazil). The musical program then begins.

The Brazilian performer and composer Manuel Pessoa de Lima takes us back to his home country. Using piano, electronics and language, he creates intense soundscapes that go far beyond pure music. For his performance in Oranienburg, he draws inspiration from the rich musical diversity that has developed in Pernambuco. With a specially composed sound collage, de Lima places the piano in a new context.

His sounds, characterized by memory, resistance and cultural reinvention, invite you on a haunting journey between past and present. Embark on a sonic journey - impressive, touching and unexpected.
