Once a month, poetry and science come together at the Humboldt Lab. This time, the renowned spoken-word poets Arnold Pretzlaw and Gauner will explore the exhibition ‚After Nature‘ with live performances of their work. Visitors are invited to join them on their tour of eloquence.

Birdy

Birdy's art is characterised by clear words with heart and mind. From emotional poetry and political statements to comedy texts, she has mastered several literary genres. Together with her twin sister Inke Sommerlang, she published her first anthology ‘Viel Lärm um alles’ with Brimborium Verlag in October 2024. Together with Spektakel Kollektiv Chemnitz e. V., Birdy is organising the German-language Poetry Slam Championships (Slam25) in 2025, which is the largest regular stage literature festival in Europe. Birdy is involved in Slam Alphas, the feminist support organisation for the German-speaking poetry slam scene. She is co-founder, presenter and booker of the Berlin poetry slam collective Kunst&Krawall.

Paul Bokowski

Paul Bokowski was born in Mainz in 1982. The author and reader has been at the forefront of the German reading theatre scene for many years. He is a founding member of PEN Berlin and the well-known Berlin reading theatre ‘Fuchs & Söhne’. His debut short story ‘Hauptsache nichts mit Menschen’ quickly became a successful longseller. This was followed by the bestsellers ‘Alleine ist man weniger zusammen’ and ‘Bitte nehmen Sie meine Hand da weg’. In autumn 2022, his autofictional novel ‘Schlesenburg’ was published by btb Verlag. In February 2025, the successful debut was also published in paperback in the same place. Paul Bokowski is the author of the monthly literary newsletter ‘Feine Auslese’. He lives and works in Berlin.
