SPIELRAUM – The Days of the Independent Performing Arts Community in Berlin

Free, intergenerational dance workshop about expressing and reflecting emotions based on concepts from Krump.

Krump is an Afro-diasporic streetdance from L.A., California. Young people created Krump because they were looking for an outlet to cope with everyday stress and process emotions.

In the workshop, the particpants may to shed light on the history of the dance style as well as learn the basic steps. The focus is on releasing and feeling one's own emotions - how they move and how movements can in turn evoke feelings.

Krump is a freestyle dance. Although there are certain basic steps or basics, the exact execution and, more importantly, the underlying intention and interpretation must be individually designed. What do you want to tell with your dance? What is the meaning behind (your) movement?
