Workshop | Children 6-9 years
Snow and ice as far as the eye can see – that's what winter in Central Europe looked like many centuries ago. During the so-called Little Ice Age, rivers froze over, and people enjoyed themselves on the ice. The paintings of the old masters show what life was like in the cold back then.
What can you discover in the paintings? And how did the artists manage to make frosty temperatures visible? You'll try out different techniques and create your own icy artworks – using brushes, paint, and collage, among other things.
