Durchlüften 2025 – Open Air in the Schlüter Courtyard Live Concerts, DJ Acts
For free, open air and under palm trees: This summer again, the DURCHLÜFTEN festival transforms the Humboldt Forum’s large courtyard into a vibrant meeting point of sound, rhythm, and culture.
Over four weekends, the stage will pulse with music from across the globe: from the raw energy of Mexican Cumbia-punk to the hypnotic groove of Kenyan Dodo Blues, from the electrifying syncopations of Congolese Soukous to the powerful messages of Afro-futuristic big bands. Caribbean-infused Japanese folk, soulful jazz, hip hop, and the joy and resilience of Frafra-gospel round off this celebration of sound— borderless, multi-perspective, and irresistably danceable!
Jaliya (Berlin)
Jaliya is an innovative Afro-fusion band from Berlin that combines the traditional rhythms of West Africa with the harmonic structures of jazz and modern electronic elements. Inspired by the heritage of the Griots – the West African storytellers and musicians – the band brings a sound to the stage that preserves cultural roots while breaking new musical ground.
With international members from the African, European and South American diaspora, Jaliya stands for musical and cultural exchange. Their music is a dynamic blend of complex rhythms, rousing improvisations and innovative soundscapes – influenced by greats such as Fela Kuti, Miles Davis and modern electronic pioneers.
Jaliya sees music as a bridge between tradition and modernity, as an expression of identity and as a means of promoting cultural dialog. With every performance, they celebrate the diversity and power of music as a universal language.
