History(s) and music on the occasion of the reopening of the Peacock Island Palace
The romantic Peacock Island is still one of the most popular excursion destinations in the region - now its landmark is shining in new splendor: after several years of restoration and conservation, the white Peacock Island Castle, which can be seen from afar across the Havel, will be accessible again from Sunday, 25 May.
If that's not a reason to celebrate! INSELSONNTAG invites you to Peacock Island to rediscover this special island and its history. It is a special kind of day trip - to join in, listen and marvel. The whole island is a single landscape park - it can be explored in idyllic natural surroundings at ten stations full of music, art, literature and artistry. There are interesting facts to learn about the island and its inhabitants.
Along the paths, you will come across peacocks, water buffalo and sheep and can visit the miniature frigate ROYAL LOUISE, which is anchored here especially for the day, or the remote dairy. The Beelitz hunting screen and the stables are also open to visitors.
There is also the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the Peacock Island Palace or a short tour of the history and restoration of the palace.
Please note: Tickets for the guided tour of the palace are limited and can be purchased at the Fährhaus on the day for a fee.
