The State Institute for Music Research is thus celebrating the conclusion of the book series on the “History of musical interpretation in the 19th and 20th centuries” as well as the retirement of Heinz von Loesch, spiritus rector of interpretation research at the SIM, after 34 years.
Christian Utz is a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and a private lecturer at the University of Vienna. His research focuses on music and globalization, perception-sensitive music analysis, digital music research and musical interpretation research as well as the analysis, interpretation and reception of Gustav Mahler's music.
