Imagine it's Thursday, 6 p.m. School's over, and you still have to endure the whole winter until life gets back on track. Even though the plates are piling up next to your bed and you feel incredibly miserable, you can't bring yourself to do anything. Why should you? No one's coming to visit anyway. And everything's overwhelming. What's left besides time in bed?

So, like everyone else your age, you open TikTok. And right there, on TikTok, is onlinetheater.live's interventionist project "MYKE."

It's about masculinities. It's about masculinity on TikTok. And it's about young men who are becoming radicalized. And about how it all connects. The radio play, now produced with Deutschlandfunk Kultur, is a deep dive into the manosphere.

onlinetheater.live aims to prevent radicalization and, to this end, infiltrated anti-feminist content bubbles on TikTok with a specially developed video campaign in the summer of 2024.

Among dating tips, self-optimization marketing, and fantasies of male dominance, the team wove counter-narratives to the prevailing image of men there, garnering almost four million views and 200,000 likes within this bubble.

The audio piece is part of the co-production "MYKE – Hacking the Manosphere," which was presented at HAU Hebbel am Ufer in 2024.
