25 years ago, Kansas City emo band The Get Up Kids released their groundbreaking album Something To Write Home About - a milestone that catapulted Matt Pryor, Jim Suptic and brothers Rob and Ryan Pope onto the musical map.
The Get Up Kids in Berlin
Since then, the band has continued to evolve without ever losing sight of their hit album's signature mix of power pop, alternative rock and punk. With several follow-up albums, they have organically expanded their sound, but always retained the raw, youthful spirit of their early days.
Now, 25 years after its release, the time is perfect to celebrate Something To Write Home About - with a reissue of the album and an anniversary tour that also stops in Berlin.
