
35th European Evening
The 35th European Evening is all about democracy.
The event with Stefanie Hubig, Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection, starts on Tuesday, 8 July 2025, at 6 p.m. at the dbb forum Berlin.
During the panel discussion, representatives from politics, academia and civil society will discuss Germany's contribution to the resilience of democracy in light of European and global developments.
After a welcome address by Volker Geyer, dbb beamtenbund und tarifunion, Stefanie Hubig, Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection, will give a keynote speech.
This will be followed by a discussion between Britta Haßelmann, Member of the German Bundestag and Chair of the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen parliamentary group, Roland Theis, Member of the German Bundestag and Chair of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the European Affairs Committee, Prof. Dr. Christian Calliess, Professor of Public Law, specialising in environmental law and European law, Free University of Berlin, Dr. Anna-Maija Mertens, President of the European Movement Germany, and Gosia Binczyk, Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Germany, will discuss Germany's contribution to the resilience of democracy.
Starting at 5 p.m., there will be an opportunity for personal exchange and networking at an information exchange with refreshments in the foyer of the dbb forum (Friedrichstraße 169, 10117 Berlin). The main programme will begin at 6 p.m.
