Ganeshotsav Berlin is the Berlin edition of the famous Indian Ganesha festival – a colourful 10-day celebration full of music, dance, spirituality and community.


Right in the heart of Berlin-Neukölln, the temple becomes a meeting place for everyone who wants to experience Indian culture up close.


Highlights of the 10 days


Day 1 – Ganesh Chaturthi (27 August)
Festive Pran Pratishthapana (ceremony to install the Ganesha statue) with
prayers, flowers, music and Aarti.

Daily (27 August – 5 September)
Puja & Aarti in the morning and evening – everyone is welcome, whether to


watch or participate

  • Cultural programme: Lezim (traditional group dance), Dhol-Tasha drumming, Bhajans (spiritual songs)
  • Special acts: classical Kathak dances and other performances
  • Children's event: drawing competition, Atharvashirsha recitation competition
  • Culinary delights: modak and other Indian specialities freshly prepared

Day 10 – Anant Chaturdashi (6th September)
The grand finale: Miravnuk – an energetic street procession with Dhol-Tasha rhythms, Lezim dancers and the entire community accompanying Lord Ganesha to the symbolic Visarjan (farewell). A true Berlin street festival with an Indian heart.
