Welcome to FUTURE RULES, a playful date night for a hopeful future.
In a world where everything is at stake, not just money, work, worries, or nature, the performance collective Frauen und Fiction invites the future itself onto the stage: in drag, in glamour, and in doubt. There, she confronts her ex-lovers, her old ideals, and new relationship models. And she must decide: Who does she want to move on with—and how?
FUTURE RULES takes tongue-in-cheek references to popular TV dating formats such as "Bachelor/Bachelorette," "Prince/ss Charming," and streaming hits such as "Too Hot to Handle," "Perfect Match," and "Love is Blind."
In a casual game show style, the piece explores fundamental questions of coexistence and translates complex topics such as capitalist language, monetary design, feminist economics, and the importance of performance and contemporary justice into playful formats.
Singer Géraldine Schabraque, in the role of FUTURE (of Economy), leads the evening and, inspired by jazzy rhythms, chansons, and pop dance songs, transforms into diverse versions of herself. This show undermines pessimism and, from the perspective of free fall, opens up new hope for a more social, just, and sustainable future.
With FUTURE RULES, Frauen und Fiktion concludes their CASH CLUB trilogy. Through three years of intensive research and interviews, they gathered visions for a different approach to money, work, care, and coexistence.
