María Gabriela Rubio Hernández and Elaine Mitchener
As part of the international and transdisciplinary mentorship programme “Forecast”, which has been taking place in Radialsystem for many years, composer and performer María Gabriela Rubio Hernández and vocalist Elaine Mitchener give an insight into their six month collaboration on a “Forecast work-stay”.
Hernández’s project “The Larva” celebrates its premiere in this context – a work developed in exchange with mentor Elaine Mitchener.
“The Larva” combines electroacoustic music, sound poetry and tactile materials, reflecting how the earth decomposes, devours and silences the body. Fragments of poetry are reinterpreted as sonic gestures in the process. The work includes a short replica by Elaine Mitchener, created as an artistic response to Hernandéz’s process.
As one of six renowned mentors for the 2025/26 Forecast edition, internationally recognised artist Elaine Mitchener selected María Gabriela Rubio Hernández as her mentee. Alongside 18 other invited artists, Hernández presented her artistic project at the Forecast Forum in the summer of 2025.
In addition, three fellows of the LINA Architecture platform invite the audience to experience various spacial interventions in and around the Radialsystem space.
