Frank Gaudlitz’s Photographs of Moldova, Armenia and Georgia
Over 110 million people were forced to flee their homelands in 2023. More people are affected by flight and persecution today than ever before.
Among them are Ukrainians, whose homes have been attacked and destroyed by Russian aggression, as well as Russians who have raised their voices against Putin’s regime and the current war and now live in fear for their lives.
Photographer Frank Gaudlitz, historian Paulus Adelsgruber and journalist Angelina Davydova met with refugees in the Republic of Moldova, Georgia and Armenia, capturing their stories in interviews and striking images.
The refugees appear true to life and candidly in the photos. Each quote and each portrait tells of an individual fate.
