Lolita Garrido (1928-2018) is considered a pioneer of Spanish jazz who, as ‘La novia del swing’ (the sweetheart of swing), brought jazz and big band music to Spanish stages in the 1940s, but was also affected by the censorship of the Franco dictatorship.
