With her DJ and live set series “Electric Lights – Women in Electronic Music,” named after her photo series, she combines portrait photography with electronic music.
As a DJ, Katja Ruge creates cinematic soundscapes from Italo disco, new wave, dark disco, bleep, electronica, and electronic 80s – a journey between nostalgic ecstasy and futuristic drive.
Ruge’s strength lies in warm-ups and reading rooms: an art of DJing that she has refined in a wide variety of contexts. At WAU, she will create a set that picks up on the mood of the concert by Shida Shahabi and Helen Island and continues it dynamically.
