Somewhere between folk, blues, country, bluegrass and jazz, this Americana triumvirate band makes genre-bending music that is just plain fun. The Devil Makes Three play dark lyrical music rooted in the troubadour traditions of the American South. The Devil Makes Three - or TDM3 for short - has been around for almost twenty years, releasing six studio albums and playing many concerts in that time.
Recently, MorganEve Swain took over double bass and background vocals from Lucia Turino as a new permanent band member. Frontman, vocalist, guitarist and main songwriter Pete Bernhard and singing multi-instrumentalist Cooper McBean are still with the band. It remains, however, that there are no drums in the three-piece constellation, which gives the songs a special sound.
In their lyrics, The Devil Makes Three tell stories from the streets, always looking at people from the bottom up. And of course always with energy, which makes the performances of The Devil Makes Three unforgettable events. The audience will feel this emotionally charged power live at their performance in Berlin.
