Gemeinsame Sache – Berliner Freiwilligentage
The common goal is to raise awareness of volunteering in Berlin and send a strong signal for democracy, social cohesion and sustainability.
From 12 to 21 September 2025, numerous social organisations, initiatives and companies will be getting involved. Together, we will offer a wide range of hands-on activities for voluntary work in all Berlin districts. This platform enables Berliners to get involved in charitable projects in their neighbourhood or across the city and experience new communities.

In Berlin, thousands of people volunteer for solidarity, democracy and social cohesion in their neighbourhoods and in social projects. The ‘Gemeinsame Sache – Berliner Freiwilligentage’ (Common Cause – Berlin Volunteer Days) highlights this commitment and invites all Berliners to get involved.The kick-off event brings together committed individuals, politicians, administrators and civil society to engage in dialogue. It highlights how volunteering enables participation and strengthens democratic coexistence. And it shows the impact that volunteering can have when it is supported by reliable framework conditions and a strong infrastructure for promoting engagement.
