What's all this drama about?!
After around three decades on the world's stage, actor Tom Quaas asks himself the questions: "What have I played so far? What would I still like to play?" He recounts his previous roles, which have shaped his acting on the stages of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Societaetstheater Dresden, and his own productions at the Batzdorf Whitsun Festival.
Lines like "There I stand, poor fool, and I'm as wise as ever." float through the room, revealing his vision of the future and his thoughts outside the box. The stream of thoughts ends with an encounter with a cello. He can't play it, but he can conduct it, supported by his orchestra – the audience. From the recap to the conducting, CLOWN MEETS CELLO offers a cheerful evening full of games, magic, and music.
To perform the piece, Tom Quaas enlisted cellist Ekaterina Gorynina. The multifaceted musician is not only at home in the field of chamber music, but has also thrilled audiences in various theater productions at the Dresden State Theater.
