The Berlin art historian and architectural theorist Hans Junecke's Architecture and Ornament Collection at the Kunstbibliothek (Art Library) includes nearly 100 models from three decades of the late 20th century.

The models, which are remarkable, curious architectural capricci, are small, usually only a few centimeters high and lightly constructed from cardboard. The interplay of the models reveals an impressive architectural typology in which the hopes and disappointments of modernism emerge. A central theme for this miniature museum by Hans Junecke is the question of the coexistence of humanity and architecture under one roof.

On the occasion of the Triennale der Moderne, this evening offers a compact opportunity to discuss the formal inventions and distortions of modernism using the very small-scale, yet large number of models.

A discussion in front of originals from the Kunstbibliothek will be held with Maren Wienigk, Head of the Architecture Collection, Kunstbibliothek, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.

Admission is free. No registration required.
