Workshop for primary school children

Are artists allowed to do whatever they want? Is a painted sculpture a sculpture or a painting? Who is memorialized and who isn't?

In the children's salon, accompanying the BERLIN. COSMOPOLITE exhibition, you will explore these and many other questions about art and create your own works of art.

The BERLIN. COSMOPOLITE exhibition tells the story of the collector couple Felicie and Carl Bernstein. Felicie organized a salon at her home every Wednesday, where interesting works of art were discussed. Max Liebermann was also a frequent guest.

The children's salon, "Impressiowas?", explores Impressionism, the art style that also influenced Max Liebermann's artwork. What does the word actually mean? When is something an impression and when is it no longer? Finally, you will create your own impressionistic works of art in pastel.
