Some music feels like a haunting – it appears unexpectedly, robs you of sleep, and inevitably demands your attention. This is how Bartees Strange describes the moment the idea for his new album, Horror, struck him. Not as a creative inspiration, but as a kind of haunting.

The sounds that called to him were raw, dark, and uncompromising. They led him into spaces he had long avoided: the depths of his childhood, to old wounds and unspoken fears. Horror is the result of this relentless exploration – a work that disturbs, touches, and liberates at the same time.

This album isn't meant to be simply consumed. It demands dedication. With Jack Antonoff and producers like Yves and Lawrence Rothman, Bartees Strange has created a soundscape that defies categorization. House, funk, guitar pop, fragile R&B – everything merges into a sound that isn't afraid to be painfully beautiful.

In August 2025, Bartees brings Horror to Berlin for an exclusive concert – a live experience that resonates as deeply as the album itself.
