Araké & RAUM · ZEIT Shortcut – one evening, two circus shows

Two to three productions are presented each evening. The artists submitted their projects as part of an open call and were selected as the most suitable and exciting contributions for the ‘Rohmaterial’ format.

ARAKÉ
– Contemporary circus and dance between ropes –
‘A constantly changing multicord, knots in which metaphors of femininity intertwine and unravel, a floating body that dances to the rhythm of a sonic journey, solving the mysteries of its entanglements.’

In a world of ropes, a woman becomes entangled in the spider's web of her unconscious. She untangles the knots of all the things she has become accustomed to hiding behind her desire to conform to feminine ideals. In the intertwining, she discovers paths and solutions – and learns to express herself and unleash her long-held silences through movement of the body.


SPACE · TIME Shortcut
In SPACE · TIME Shortcut, Tobias Piero Dohm invites the audience to enter a space that is constantly evolving – a space between body and sound, materiality and object. Sand-filled spheres and kinetic apparatuses float, roll, rotate and trace movements – leaving fleeting traces and forming ephemeral landscapes. Sand becomes the central material and metaphor: it stores time, makes change visible and opens up spaces for associations between memory, transience and balance. The space itself becomes an actor, the audience becomes explorers.

Between deconstructed juggling, performance, installation and modular soundscapes, composed live by Fabian Laute, a sensory experience emerges in which time does not appear linear, but as a living, magical structure – full of dynamism and surprising revelations.
