As part of Berlin's ‘80 Years Since the End of the War’ remembrance week, Helena Goldt, accompanied by Ivanna Nelson on piano, the Berlin ensemble Cosmonautix and other guests, will perform songs by Anna German – complemented by traditional songs from the cultural history of German settlements in Eastern and Central Europe.

Anna German (1936–1982) was one of the most important singers in Eastern Europe. Her songs – including ‘Echo ljubvi’, ‘Gori, gori, moja svezda’ and ‘Nezhnostj’ – became musical bridges between cultures, languages and generations. Millions of people in the Soviet Union, Poland and also in East Germany were touched by her clear, almost angelic voice.
