First Supalife Screen Printing Residency
They carved pieces of wood, collected stones, molded clay, sewed pieces of fabric together, and painted with oil paints. In addition, over the past six weeks, the duo Palefroi has translated original oil paintings into colorful screen-printed editions at the “MehrSiebdruck” screen-printing workshop as part of the first Supalife screen-printing residency. These screen prints, together with the expanded objects, form the basis of the exhibition.
So immerse yourself in the world of this enthusiastic, creative, and slightly offbeat forest community, whose visual representation Palefroi has explored in the same playful and uninhibited manner.
Palefroi
Damien Tran and Marion Jdanoff have been collaborating under the name “Palefroi” for nearly fifteen years. Their artistic practice encompasses drawing, printmaking, painting, and animated film. They have self-published numerous zines and books, produced primarily through screen printing or risography, thereby carving out a broad field of activity. This long-standing work has resulted in numerous exhibitions in Europe and Asia, as well as the screening of their films and the presentation of their publications at a variety of international festivals.
Both Tran and Jdanoff are self-taught. They have consistently emphasized this aspect of their work rather than downplaying it. Perhaps this explains why their projects always convey a sense of spontaneity and formal experimentation.
