In his latest theatrical work, *Deutscher Herbst*, acclaimed director Christopher Rüping uses a text from the fall of 1946—and other falls—as a starting point to explore the losses of the present.

It’s about the fading of memory, the end of shared narratives, but also about the possible utopias that open up beyond this end. To explore this, Christopher Rüping and his ensemble listen closely to history. Romanticism and wars echo one another and resonate with the fall of 2026. A daughter encounters her father; grief meets consolation.

The production is a co-production with the Ruhrtriennale arts festival and will premiere on September 17 at the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum. Just a few days later, it will be performed in Berlin.
