Two painters. Two worlds. At the exhibition The Chosen Ones, Florian Schulz’s large-scale, narrative works meet Ekkehard Tischendorf’s enigmatic portraits.
Florian Schulz creates a surreal dream world with ethereal figures, masquerades, and mystical theatricality. Ghostly societies, lost groups, and solitary figures form the core of his narrative painting, which
is characterized by a painterly independence.
In his visual language, the painter Ekkehard Tischendorf compositionally brings together figurative and abstract elements into an exciting dialogue. His motifs oscillate between immediate drama and an intense color aesthetic that shifts between neon-like, glistening pigments and grisaille.
