Hairspray Magazine and Fanatic Female Frustration are two self-published comic anthologies focusing on the work of FLINTA* comic artists. Both were jointly awarded the Alternative Comic Prize in Angouleme last year.

Hairspray is published by Karla Paloma (Berlin) and aims to connect international FLINTA* artists and alternative comic scenes and help them gain more visibility.

Fanatic Female Frustration is a project by Elsa Klee and Lucille Ourvouai (Marseille) dedicated to Aline Kominsky Crumb, the pioneer of feminist autobiographical comics. The anthology celebrates comic zines and the analogue and subversive working methods and narrative styles that have shaped this queer-feminist subculture.

The foundation for the collaboration was laid by a collaborative exhibition in Bologna and joint appearances at international comic festivals. The joint group exhibition at Neurotitan presents the work of artists from the first and second issues of Hairspray Magazine and Fanatic Female Frustration; a diverse group of approximately 30 artists from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Great Britain, Canada, England, Poland, Cameroon, Brazil, the USA, Chile and Switzerland.
