Guided tour with Dr. Bettina Bouresh
In Tegel-Süd, at Billerbecker Weg 123 A, a Nazi forced labor camp operated from 1942 to 1945. Run by a subsidiary of the Borsig company, it was one of the largest camps in Berlin, with a capacity of 1,500 inmates.
Buildings from the camp's existence stand today as stark reminders of Nazi forced labor. A district memorial was inaugurated here in the spring of 2010.
The guided tour explains the site's history as a forced labor camp and its later use as a horticultural training school. The memorial room displays artifacts relating to the daily lives of the forced laborers.
