Julian Kirschler's pop-up exhibition DER RAUM DES UNBEHAGENS (The Space of Discomfort) at the Galilee Church in Berlin-Friedrichshain artistically confronts major issues of our time.

“I'm actually quite different, but I rarely get the chance to show it.” (Ödön von Horváth)

A church in Berlin-Friedrichshain. A triptych altar in which a different kind of Toy Story plays out.

The most famous table in the world explodes after a coin is inserted into a peep show booth and spews white goo, weapons, pregnant matryoshka dolls, and Christian insignia. A wooden cross with a roadway on which three classic cars carry a flat earth. A cruise ship emits dollar bills and blackens the sky while “Dir Gott so nah” (God so close to you) plays. Crazy? Only what people do in nomine patris worldwide.
P.S. Not to forget: a world premiere featuring a yellow plastic banana.
Trust that it will be good.
