Fairy tales, sparkling lights and creative hands-on activities in the midst of wild urban nature
The Natur Park Südgelände invites park visitors of all ages to experience the magic of Advent in the midst of wild urban nature on the first two weekends of Advent – 29 and 30 November and 6 and 7 December 2025. Every Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m., guests can enjoy Christmas fairy tales, music, sparkling lights and creative hands-on activities.

Light installations lend the park a festive atmosphere – far removed from the hustle and bustle of traditional Christmas markets. Glowing stars throughout the park create a pre-Christmas atmosphere. One highlight is the candle labyrinth, which was designed with the help of visitors and will once again light up the Natur Park this year. All guests are invited to bring candles in glasses to help the labyrinth grow. Whether it's the Snow Queen, angels in training or Santa's living sack – some unusual encounters await you on the paths of the Natur Park Südgelände.
In the secret garden ‘Giardino Segreto’, craft activities such as wreath making and candle designing invite visitors to join in on Advent weekends, while a number of stalls encourage them to browse for Christmas gift ideas. On Sundays, 30 November and 7 December, the bakery in the Natur Park Südgelände will open its doors. Here, young and old alike can create delicious treats and, of course, try them for themselves.
Storytellers Birgit Hägele and Cornelia Bittner will be creating magical moments at the water tower, awakening the imagination of young park visitors with fairy tales about Knecht Ruprecht, Frau Holle, the Star Talers and other stories. The fairy tales will be told on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and on Sundays at 2, 3 and 4 p.m. Singer-songwriter Allie Feather, the Lankwitz Horns and the jazz band Enjoué Music will bring winter music to the grounds of the former Tempelhof marshalling yard.
Café Parsüd will be providing food and drink to keep guests warm on both Advent weekends from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Brückenmeisterei.
On the event weekends, the park will close at 7 p.m. on Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday. The events are included in the park admission price.
