Friendly Capitalism Lounge Vol. 22

For 25 years, the Lounge has offered an artistically critical view of our messed-up world, bringing together countless parallel universes of music and art—this year featuring 80 artists from all genres across three generations, accompanied by a 100-page catalog full of photos and quirky stories.

For 25 years, the Friendly Capitalism Lounge has defied the steadily worsening conditions of a world on the brink with a wild mix of artists, musicians, and illustrators of all styles. Outside, everything stays the same—only worse: culture is being constrained, governments are in turmoil, humanism has gone astray, and the climate is seriously considering a planetary relocation. Inside, we celebrate against corruption and division—for attitude, fun, and a little bit of grandiosity. The culprit, as always, is capitalism—but apparently, life without it isn’t so easy either. It’s high time for a bit of Friendly Capitalism Lounge.

For the anniversary, Jim Avignon and Fehmi Baumbach invited all the artists from past decades to contribute a new work—and almost everyone is participating!

The opening will coincide with the release of a 100-page catalog filled with photos, quirky anecdotes, and stories that can only be experienced in the orbit of Friendly Capitalism.

Be there when it’s once again time to ditch the austerity measures and die into Recession Fashion!
