On his journey, Hans makes many trades:
He trades the lump of gold for a horse, which he trades for a cow, which he trades for a pig, which he trades for a goose, and which he trades for a grindstone, which he drops into a well, until in the end he has nothing left and realizes: freedom is the greatest happiness.
