NoonSong - Song & Prayer

Palestrina
and Orlando di Lasso lived at the same time. Both are regarded as stars of the
late Renaissance: Lasso was highly honoured at the Munich royal court, while
Palestrina was, among other roles, director of the Cappella Giulia at St.
Peter's Basilica in Rome. In a large eight-part motet by each composer,
one can impressively experience the similarities, but also the great
differences in the individual musical language of the two.

Liturgie: 17. Sonntag nach Trinitatis

  • Tagespsalm: Psalm 71b Orazio Vecchi (1550-1605): Fauxburdun

NoonSong - what's that?

Every Saturday at noon, locals, visitors to Berlin, music fans and architecture enthusiasts gather for NoonSong. It is both a concert and a church service, developed from Anglican Evensong. Eight professional singers from the vocal ensemble sirventes berlin perform choral music under the direction of Stefan Schuck. The repertoire ranges from Renaissance music to contemporary compositions.
